If the vehicle was used as a demonstrator before being sold at retail, warranty coverage begins on the date the vehicle was put into demonstrator service, no kilometre limitation. Any outer body sheet metal panel found, under normal use, to have become perforated (rust-through) due to corrosion will be repaired or replaced, at the option of the manufacturer, without charge to the owner for parts or labour.

Any emissions control system part that causes the vehicle to fail to meet applicable emission control regulations is covered under this warranty.

Subaru Canada, Inc. guarantees that every Subaru vehicle is designed and manufactured to pass all federal and provincial emissions performance tests and will continue to do so for a period of 36 months from the date of initial registration or 60,000 km, whichever comes first. If a vehicle fails an emissions performance test during this period, Subaru Canada, Inc. will repair the vehicle to bring it up to the legislated specifications at no cost to the owner, providing the following conditions are met:
- The vehicle has been maintained in accordance with the Subaru Canada, Inc. recommended service schedule
- The emissions test was performed at an approved and/or licensed test facility
- The failure of the emissions test results in a penalty to the owner or loss of use of the vehicle.

The Subaru Battery and Electric Drive Unit Limited Warranty covers repairs needed to correct defects in materials or workmanship in the following components: high voltage battery pack, AC/DC inverter, DC/DC converter and transmission and electric motor assemblies. These components are covered for 96 months, or 160,000 km, whichever comes first, with retention of 70% or more of the original battery capacity over that period. *Like all the lithium-ion batteries, high voltage battery capacity will decrease over time and with use, thus gradual capacity loss with time and use is expected and considered normal wear. The measurement method used to determine the high voltage battery capacity, and the decision of whether to repair, replace, or provide reconditioned or remanufactured parts, and the condition of any such replaced, reconditioned or remanufactured parts, are at the sole discretion of Subaru Canada Inc .

Subaru Extended Protection Plan: prices and options available
When your new vehicle's limited warranty comes to an end, the Subaru Protection Plan (SPP) takes over. It is the only extended maintenance contract approved by Subaru Canada, designed to meet your specific needs. 1. S.U.R. Powertrain Protection – Basic Plan
Available only for new Subaru vehicles, this plan covers critical components such as the engine, turbocharger, transmission, transfer case and drive axle.
2. S.U.R. Major Protection Plan – Extended Coverage Plan
This plan offers more extensive coverage, including all Powertrain components as well as additional items such as steering, brakes, fuel distribution and suspension.
3. S.U.R. Complete Protection Plan – Most Comprehensive Plan
This plan is the most comprehensive, providing almost complete coverage for your vehicle, with the exception of a few specified items. It is available for new and certified pre-owned Subaru vehicles.

Protection Plan Personalization and Deductible Options
Once you have chosen one of the three Subaru Protection Plans (Powertrain S.U.R., Major S.U.R. and Complete S.U.R.), you can further customize your coverage by determining the deductible amount that seems fair to you ($0, $100 or $250). For any repair covered by your Subaru Protection Plan, you will only pay the deductible (as well as applicable taxes). If the new part is also defective, you will not have to pay any deductible for the repair. Depending on the Subaru vehicle you own, the duration of the Subaru Protection Plan varies from 3 months/5,000 km to 7 years/160,000 km.
